What I Ate in Universal Orlando!

Here are all the places I ate in Universal Orlando and what I thought about each place.

Mythos

Mythos is located in the Islands of Adventure part of the park. Mythos was a fantastic experience. The rockwork inside and outside of this restaurant is truly amazing. Mythos is also renowned as the world’s best theme park restaurant. I ordered the Lamb Loin, which is a delicious but difficult entree to cook perfectly. While the dish was good, the sides could have been better.

Green Eggs and Ham Cafe

The Green Eggs and Ham Cafe is located in Seuss Landing. All entrees are tater tots served with a twist. I ordered the Classic Green Eggs & Ham Tots, which consisted of green eggs, diced ham, and white cheese sauce on top of tater tots. Other tater tot options include buffalo chicken, pizza, carnitas, and more. The food was delicious and lived up to my expectations for Dr. Seuss’s Green Eggs and Ham.

Kohola Reef

Kohola Reef was the only spot open in Volcano Bay when we went, but it was actually not bad. Keep in mind, I was six months pregnant at the time. I chowed down on the Mango BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries, and then I indulged in the Guava Tapioca Pudding for dessert. After that, I went back for a chicken tender and fries platter. I also treated myself to two virgin Pina Coladas from the bar. Everything I ordered was decent, but I’ve had better food elsewhere. Hopefully, next time we go, the other restaurants will be open. There were a few places I was really hoping to try.

Hog’s Head Pub

The Hog’s Head Pub is located in Islands of Adventure as part of the Harry Potter World. It is connected to The Three Broomsticks restaurant. Although we didn’t get to eat there, we did order quite a few Butter Beers from the bar. After trying the first one, I, being pregnant, immediately craved them all week. I couldn’t tell you how many I had. They were so delicious. There are also a couple ice cream shops in the park that carry Butter Beer Ice Cream.

Voo Doo Doughnuts

Voodoo Doughnuts is also located on CityWalk, so you can visit even without Universal passes. If you want Voodoo Doughnuts, I recommend ordering ahead of time and picking them up from the kiosk. If you choose to wait in the long line (and by long, I mean hours), it’s worth the hype. The only downside, which can still be a positive, is that the doughnuts are very sweet. I couldn’t finish mine in one sitting, so I saved it for the next day.

The Cowfish

The Cowfish is located on City Walk, so you don’t need tickets for Universal to dine there. To be honest, the food wasn’t the best. This restaurant offers both sushi and burgers. They have a bento box option, which includes a mini burger, four pieces of your choice of sushi roll, sweet potato fries, Thai cucumbers, and edamame. We also ordered the Blackened Tuna Nachos as an appetizer, and that was definitely the highlight of the evening.

Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast

Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast is a restaurant located on City Walk. If you are wanting to eat here, you do not need tickets to Universal. This restaurant is known for their crazy milkshakes. I honestly am not impressed by the milkshakes. They look remarkable, but are too overwhelming, too sweet, and too much comes on them that you can’t finish it all. We did sit down to eat here, but I don’t remember what I got or how the food was. I do know none of us were impressed. A positive of the place was the assorted chocolate and macaron bars displayed in the gift shop. I ordered a few things and thoroughly enjoyed them.
