When it comes to dining in New York City, the options are seemingly endless. From world-renowned fine dining establishments to tucked-away neighborhood gems, the city offers a culinary experience to suit every palate. Whether you’re craving a classic New York slice of pizza or seeking out the latest food trend, New York City has it all. Let’s take a closer look at the diverse and vibrant dining scene that this dynamic city has to offer.

Savory Food

Razza Pizza

When I tell you this place is my family’s favorite, I mean we named our dog Razza. Razza Pizza is considered the best in NYC and NJ for quite a few reasons. They use high-quality, fresh ingredients for their pizzas. There are so many unique pizzas to choose from, but you can never go wrong with a classic pepperoni pizza. We also tried a the top recommended meatballs and were not disappointed. Although Razza is not in NYC, it’s just a quick PATH ride over to Jersey City.

Chelsea Market

If you’re a true foodie, Chelsea Market is an absolute must. This is a must on every visit we make to the city. This iconic food hall offers a tantalizing array of culinary delights, from artisanal bakeries and fresh seafood to gourmet chocolates and international cuisine. My top favorite is “Very Fresh Noodles” ordering a yummy noodle bowl with a bubble tea. In addition to its food offerings, Chelsea Market also houses a mix of shops selling everything from fashion and jewelry to home goods and gifts.

Grimaldi’s Pizza

When my family visited Grimaldi’s for the first time, we ordered one pepperoni pizza that was devoured in minutes. It was so delicious, that we ordered a second pizza and ate all of it. If you find yourself in Brooklyn, visit Grimaldi’s for the best coal-fired brick over pizza. Grimaldi’s is a local fave and has also appeared in a few movies and hit TV shows including Gossip Girl.

Cafe Habana

This was my first time ever having Mexican Street Corn, and OH! MY! GOODNESS! I have been craving it ever since. I loved this grilled corn, smothered in mayo, cortina cheese, chili powder, and lime. We’ve attempted to make it at home, but it just wasn’t the same. Our table also ordered the Cubano, which was voted best in NYC. Cafe Habana is definitely a place you don’t want to skip.

Eataly

Eataly in New York City is a fantastic dining destination for several reasons. The delicious pizza is definitely a must-try. Their pasta dishes are popular and for good reason – they are simply delicious. The quality of the ingredients and the authentic Italian flavors make dining at Eataly a delightful experience.

Sweet Bites

Junior’s Cheesecake

Junior’s is a place we make sure to go every visit to the city. They have the best cheesecake I have every had. It’s known for its creamy texture, rich flavor, and perfect balance of sweetness. Using high-quality ingredients, traditional baking methods, and passion for perfection is the secret to their delicious cheesecake. Juniors is a must try for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Dominique Ansel Bakery

When you visit Dominique Ansel Bakery, be ready to wait in line. But know it is 100% worth it. They are known for their world-famous Cronut. It’s a croissant and a doughnut all in one dessert. The bakery also offers a wife variety of other sweet treats that are equally impressive. I ordered a box of macarons, but stole a bite of the Cronut my dad had ordered.

Van Leeuwen

This may be cheating, but I get Van Leeuwen even when not in the city. They sell pints of their ice cream in many grocery stores. I’m telling you it is SOO good. I was intrigued by this brand because of its use of natural and organic ingredients. They use mindful, clean ingredients. That’s a huge plus to me! They started out as a food truck in the streets of Brooklyn and worked their way up. Van Leeuwen is an ice cream spot that should not be passed up.

Baked by Melissa

Baked by Melissa is one of the top sweet spots in the city for tourists. Everyone loves it because of its unique and delicious assortment of bite-sized cupcakes and macarons. The variety of flavors and the perfect portion size make it a great place to satisfy you sweet cravings. Since all of the treats are bite-sized, you can order more flavors without over doing it. That’s how it works. Right?

Magnolia Bakery

Magnolia Bakery is another sweet spot we try to hit every visit to the city. Their banana pudding and absolutely divine. Made with layers of creamy pudding, fresh bananas, and delicious vanilla wafers. The serving size is generous, so it’s ideal for sharking. Unless you want it all to yourself then that is perfect okay too! I didn’t snap a photo of the dessert, but did get a picture of the container it came in. We were there during pride month, so it had a cute rainbow on the top.
